Biking is something which always made me give out that stupid grin of mine . late teens it was all about speed and picking up road fights with hotshots who thought that they were " jerry Martin " ;) .
first bike was a 110 CC single cylinder Shogun and it was a wild cat .... it purrs when you kind of tickle it and if you want it to, it growls and snarls and becomes like red hot cannonball .I called it Ricky , this was in 2000-2002 season. That's how I started biking , they were not biking per say it was need based travel usually done by other people by train or coaches . those were around 200 to 400 kms a trip and usually was on bike and once we had 3 bikes going together .
For one of the trips we ( me and my best bud Kamal ) decided to take one of our friends bullet . The ride was about 300 Kms and we had an engagement to attend too . That's were I fell in love with my present bike . The feeling of riding a 180 kg "built like a gun, goes like a bullet" mechanical master piece for the first time is like traveling on an African elephant ... Powerful yet gentle ... big but majestic .
Off late I have been feeling that I have not been doing justice to my bike by using it only for commuting within the city . felt like I'm domesticating a wild beast . Then I realized it wasn't only the bike whom I'm doing injustice to .. its to myself too .. I needed to feel the wind whistling in my ears again.. wanted to ride through greenery and villages .... see jungles for real not in Nat Geo . Wanted to be back on the road
Though a bit late I hit the road and know for sure I will be doing it once in a while from now on . will be posting my views on the outings I've had and my thoughts and deeds for the future ones .
keep watching this space for more . looking forward for your comments and suggestions
Cheers
